Dancing in the Wrong Shoes

I don't hate on girls that can afford Alexander Wang's latest sweater or whatever animal print Miuccia Prada has decided to adorn her S/S collection in. In fact, I would love to be one of those bloggers lamenting the fact that her A.F. Vandevorst shoes are on back order. But the truth is, I've got a very tight budget with no real allowance for new clothes on a regular schedule. What extra money I do have is usually spent on my cats  and current foster kittens (sad, but true) or used to vamp up the apartment I share with my boyfriend. Occasionally I even treat myself to an expensive hunk of cheese from Whole Foods.

The point is, I don't chase trends simply because I cannot afford it. If I'm going to spend good money on new clothes, they're going to be classic staples (say a sturdy pair of jeans or a warm winter coat). I only allow myself to indulge in of-the-moment-trends if they're cheap enough that I won't care if I can't wear said item in six months. Enter these fantastic shoes:

Brown leather riveted clogs with a real wooden heel, reminiscent of the Chanel/Jeffrey Campbell clogs from this past spring collection. I don't have $1,200 to buy the Chanel originals and I won't let myself spend $135 on the JC knockoffs that I know will be passe by winter. That's why I think the shoe gods were smiling on me when I so randomly found these clogs on sale at Spring, Aldo's younger, cheaper sister, knocked down from $70.00 to $14.95. Yep. Almost 80% off. No biggie.
