Ever since I started this blog, I've been dying for the chance to show off this dress. With the exception of the Betsey Johnson dress I snagged for a mere $42.00, this is my absolute favorite thrift store find ever. Not only does this dress epitomize mod-chic, fit like a glove, and require no slip underneath, but it was a total steal. I bought this at the Morgan Hill, CA Goodwill- home of the "everything you can stuff into one paper bag for $9.00" sale. I can't even say how much it cost, because I got a whole other bag of goodies, but let's say it was roughly $1.50.
Tonight, Ray and I are going out for a belated birthday dinner with my parents at the Prohibition Tap Room and then seeing a puppet rendition of Shakespeare's Caesar as performed by puppets. Even though it's clearly going to be a silly night, I feel going to the theater (even the theater of the absurd) requires a bit of dressing up. This outfit pretty much put itself together. As soon as I put on the dress, I knew I wanted to play up the strong contrast of the piping by adding a pair of tights with an exposed seam up the back. It's a bit cold today in Philadelphia so I went to grab a cardigan. Lo and behold, it matches the red seam of the tights perfectly! God, I love it when that happens.
And here's a couple cute outtakes that Ray caught:
Dress: Thrifted
Cardigan: Active Basic
Tights: Forever 21
Shoes: Predictions
Sunglasses: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Forever 21
